Today marks one year since I uploaded the first video that would eventually lead to my YouTube Channel becoming “GEN-X POV”. It’s also a Thursday which means there will be a new video dropping this afternoon. God sure does some cool things, right? I love that on the one year anniversary of my channels beginning that I am able to publish on my regular schedule.
The video scheduled for today is different. It’s just me reading to you something I wrote that you can read along with here if you like. Its something I wrote with the intention of posting it to SUBSTACK but decided to save it for the one year anniversary of my channel. It gives you a glimpse into my past, who I am, and why I lived the way I did that now serves as my motivation for this channel. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it.
I am also working on an AFTERTHOUGHTS episode that should drop this coming Saturday afternoon where I look back over the first year of GEN-X POV and also talk about what’s ahead for Year Two. As those of you who have been following since the beginning and have seen my recent videos since my two week break back in May you know that the content of GEN-X POV is now transitioning into what I have always intended it to be. A straight forward, no bullshit, GEN-X look at the world we live in and the events that impact our lives. To say that I’m excited for the future of this channel is an understatement!
I also know that it means views and subscribers are going to slow down – and they have as evident by recent upload numbers. And that’s okay! My channel took off with my third video that went viral that was a fun, tongue in cheek message to the late generations why GEN-X’ers are the way they are and I stand by what I said in that video and the laughs it has received since. But that style of content, though entertaining and definitely will still be a part of GEN-X POV, is not what I want my channel to be known for.
I want GEN-X POV to be known for the same no-nonsense opinions and views that many of you share with me in the comments section. We have real no-holds barred discussions from all types of lived experiences, shared frustrations, and genuine concerns for our shared future. You know how much I love that! It’s why I close my videos with “I’ll see you in the comments section!” and why I know the audio podcast AFTERTHOUGHTS is going to be a huge part of the GEN-X POV experience moving forward.
There is so much more I would love to say, but for now I’ll just say once again – THANK YOU!
Thank you for the trust in me to click that “subscribe” button.
Thank you for supporting me in my adventure here.
Thank you for sharing YOUR story with me here in the comments section and being willing to do that. I am humbled and honored that you share a little bit of your week with me here and I will always do my best to respect your time and give you all I can.
