Starting this Thursday, I’m thrilled to announce that I’m finally leaning into the vision I’ve always had for this channel—a fresh, authentic style that dives deep into current events and life experiences through the unique lens of Generation X. This is the content I’ve been dreaming of creating, and it’s time to make it happen!

What’s Changing?

Moving forward, my videos will feel more like a video podcast, focusing on current events and personal stories told from the distinct Gen-X point of view. Think of it as a conversation with a friend who’s lived through the ’80s and ’90s, navigated the pre-internet world, and now has a front-row seat to today’s wild headlines—all with that Gen-X mix of skepticism, humor, and hard-earned wisdom. I’ll be breaking down what’s happening in the world, from major news stories to cultural moments, and tying them to the experiences and perspectives that make our generation unique.

Kicking things off this Thursday, my first video in this new format will dive into the Menendez Brothers resentencing and their possible parole in 2025. This case has been a cultural touchstone for decades, and as a Gen-Xer, I remember the media frenzy of the early ’90s like it was yesterday. I’ll explore what this moment means today, how it resonates with our generation’s sense of justice, family dynamics, and media overload, and why it’s stirring up so much conversation now.

They might not be the main focus, but I’ll keep dropping those gems from time to time to keep the vibes high and the memories flowing.

This shift is about staying true to the heart of this channel. As a Gen-Xer, I’ve always wanted to create content that reflects how we see the world—our knack for cutting through the noise, our blend of idealism and pragmatism, and our ability to connect the dots between the past and present. The new video podcast style lets me do that in a deeper, more conversational way. Whether it’s unpacking a headline like the Menendez case or sharing life lessons from our analog upbringing in a digital age, I want this channel to be a space where Gen-Xers (and anyone who vibes with us) can nod along and say, “Yup, that’s exactly how it feels.”

• Weekly Drops: New videos will hit the channel regularly, starting with this Thursday’s deep dive into the Menendez Brothers case.

Why the Menendez Brothers Story?

For the first video, I chose the Menendez Brothers resentencing because it’s a story that hits hard and is a core memory for Gen-Xers. Many of us were glued to our TVs in the ’90s, watching the trials unfold in real-time on Court TV. It was a moment that shaped how we viewed justice, privilege, and family dysfunction. Now, with the possibility of parole in 2025, it’s a chance to revisit those feelings, reflect on how society has changed (or hasn’t), and explore what this case means to us today. It’s the perfect launchpad for this new chapter of the channel.
