For the past week or so, I have been feeling off.
That is the best way I can put it. Unfortunately, it has manifested itself in my creative mind. And what I mean by that is that I have been unable to create anything that I feel is of respectable quality. My attempts at making videos, visuals, or even writing a simple idea for content have been below my most basic standards. To say this has frustrated me is an understatement.
It’s like having so much work to do at your job that you don’t know where to start… so you just sit at your desk, stare at your screen, and do nothing. That is why there was no video this week. I recorded one, but I was crap.
In times like these, I tell myself, “I need a vacation!”. However, there are times when that simply is not a possibility. So, when I find myself in that situation, I have to give myself time to pause, think, write out the tasks I need to complete, and establish a “reset point” from which to begin.
Luckily, being a content creator is not my full-time job (yet), so I can afford to do both. So that’s what I’m going to do.
On Friday, May 9th, I will do a Live Stream on my YouTube channel. After that, I will take a break and refrain from posting any content. In two weeks, I will do another Live Stream to kick off the creation process again, and then return to my regular schedule of posting videos every Thursday. So the schedule for the next few weeks will look like this:
- FRIDAY May 9th @ 12pmCDT – Live Stream
- May 10th thru May 22nd – Creative Reset / Touching Grass
- FRIDAY May 23rd – Live Stream
- THURSDAY May 29th – New Video
As of writing this I have 2,236 subscribers and on average my videos so far this year have been receiving about 615 views. I am so grateful to you that you show up for me like this each and every week. It is because of this that I do not want to give you anything less than the best (it’s a felony, as our boy Vanilla Ice would tell you).
For those of you who reached out to me on Thursday, looking for my video – you know who you are – I am at a loss for words to express how much that meant to me and how humbling it was to think that you have made me part of your weekly routine. Don’t worry! I will be back.
I just need to go touch some grass for a while . . .
